My name is Anita Bocian and I am proud to be a Certified Infant Massage Teacher (CIMT) through Liddle Kidz Foundation, a Certified Postpartum Doula through CAPPA Canada, as well as an experienced mother of two amazing children.
My professional journey began when I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario. Following that, I received my diploma in Massage Therapy from Elmcrest College as well as a diploma in Counselling Skills from Centennial College.
In addition, I hold a current certification in First Aid, AED and CPR for babies, children and adults.
My journey towards becoming a doula truly flourished when I had my first child. Although I had read a variety of baby books prior to welcoming my baby, I really had no way of genuinely knowing what parenthood would be like until I was in the thick of it. Thankfully, I was fortunate to find postpartum support during this time and it made all the difference for me and my family. The experienced support that I received during those first few postpartum months helped me to establish breastfeeding, gain confidence and feel more at ease during that transitional phase.
The newborn stage is one that is so brief and precious, therefore it is important for families to be able to have the tools that they need in order to savour and enjoy every moment. As an experienced doula since 2011, I strive to offer families the highest level of support so that they too can feel confident and at ease during this special time.
My journey towards becoming an Infant Massage Teacher also flourished when I had my children. Although I always had an interest in infant massage, I only received a minimal amount of infant-focused education during massage school and I felt that I needed much more comprehensive training in order to go into the infant massage field.
In 2012, was thrilled when the opportunity arose to be trained by the acclaimed Infant & Pediatric Massage Teacher, Tina Allen. Through my training with her, I received the education and tools which are necessary to be an informed and effective Infant Massage Teacher.
In 2015, I co-founded the
Timshel Holistic Collective
which consists of professional and multi-talented doulas that provide a wide array of services from prenatal to postpartum and beyond.
In 2018, I founded my latest venture,
The Elderberry Fairy
, which specializes in all natural, immune boosting elderberry products.
